Store:
Aeropostale Stores and Aeropostale.com

First Impression:
Both Aeropostale’s store and website appeal to a younger demographic – ‘tweens’ and teenagers, maybe early 20’s.  However, older folks shouldn’t rule the store out entirely.  You can find decent quality items at excellent prices both in-stores and online.

Purchase Experience:
In Store:  I am not a big fan of shopping my local Aero store.  It is often very disorganized and the sales associates are busy keeping their heads above water.  The sale section can contain some amazing deals though, so I think it is worth checking out from time to time.  The store is also a good way to see the approximate sizes of garments.  In my experience,  Aero items run quite small.

Online: Items are organized into Boys and Girls – clearly showing the demographics of the store.  At first,  I didn’t know if I was simply missing the Women’s section!  Once I got my bearings, I checked out the sale items.  I was pleased to find a black puffer coat on sale for $29.99 from the original price of $99.50 and a pair of boots for $14.99, down from $59.50!  Not bad!  Also, I placed my order on Tuesday and received it on Friday without paying for expedited shipping. I’m very, very pleased with that delivery time.

Customer Service Experience:
I have only dealt with in-store customer service representatives and they have always been friendly.  Of course this will vary from store to store and season to season, since most of the employees are high school and college-aged kids.

Overall Rating:
B – I probably wouldn’t spend full retail price on anything at Aeropostale,  but if you can catch a great sale, I would definitely recommend checking it out.  The coat and boots I ordered are certainly good quality, especially for the prices I paid for them.

What do you think about Aeropostale?  Is it just for teenagers or can “grownups” have success there too?

Disclosure:

I am not in any way affiliated with Aeropostale, all items mentioned were purchased with my own money, and all opinions are my own.

Hello! I am from the Lady Blogger Society! Your blog caught my eye because of the name of it! Good blog and lots of useful information!

  2. I’m not a fan of shopping there either – too loud and unorganized (LOL I sound sooo old!)

I do like their jeans though – they come in short lengths and run small! And a good price too – I got a couple pairs on sale for $19.99 each and no hemming was required!

Ha! If you sound old, so do I!

Agree regarding the jeans! I was SO close to ordering some this time around but I chickened out at the last second. I have heard you can get great deals on Aero jeans on Ebay too…

I agree Aero often has really great deals – esp on their sweat pants and jeans, which generally fit nicely and are flattering. There is another store, Delia’s – they have a wider selection of pants in terms of lengths.. but it is very similar to Aero, though, in that it does mostly aim to serve the younger population.. They also often have great sales.. especially right now via their catalog.. and their pants are always buy one get one half off! 🙂

Ah I have checked out Delia’s and Alloy (I think they are the same company) but I have never ordered from them. I think in my past life as a high schooler, I might have 🙂 I’ll have to see what they have when their winter clearance comes around! Thanks for the tip!
