In case you missed it, Jennifer Lopez is hot right now. She was on the cover of People’s Most Beautiful issue, she’s a new judge on American Idol, and she has a new album coming out (or is it out already?)
Anyway, you might have noticed Miss Lopez advertising L’Oreal EverSleek Intense Smoothing shampoo recently. I know I noticed. The woman has fabulous hair,am I right? I had to try.
The EverSleek brand claims to be free of harsh sulfates and heavy silicones (which makes me question what quantifies them as heavy and harsh, but that is beside the point). I’ve been avoiding sulfates for the better part of three years, so this is right up my alley.
So what do I think about the L’Oréal EverSleek Intense Smoothing shampoo?
Well for starters, I am not sure if I bought exaaaactly what Jennifer is hawking. I purchased the EverPure Rosemary Juniper shampoo and the Rosemary Mint conditioner. That’s the same thing though, right?
In either case both smell great- very fresh and natural, not fruity or overpowering. The shampoo has a lot of lather, which is something I’m not used to after being sulfate-free for so long. It made me question if the shampoo is actually FREE of sulfates or just certain types.
And what happened to my frizzy locks? My hair looks, well, about the same as before. I have been using it every other day for the past month and I haven’t noticed a big change either way, even after a haircut.
Moral of the story: while advertising is on point and the celebrity endorsement probably won over more than just a few buyers, this is just another shampoo and conditioner. It’s not bad, but it won’t give you JLo hair either.
