What inspires you to create?

That’s a hard one to  pin; I get inspired by colors, shapes, striking patterns. Colors and shapes are very important to me but I also believe in practicality.  My items must be usable whether it is on a sofa or on the body.  It must be more than for sitting on a shelf.

What are some of your favorite colors/patterns/design aesthetics? How do you incorporate them into your work?

It really depends on my mood:  pink for romancism, green for the earth, blue for the sea, yellow and orange for the sun and fall colors, black and white are always classic. I love things that will never age.

Who are some of your favorite celebrities?  Whose style would match up with what’s available in your store?

I don’t think that I follow a particular celebrity.  I’m not much into glamour, I’m a bit of a gypsy because I like colors, and I like to be comfortable but I also like classical lines. Friends say that I am conservatives in that sense. I try to go wild sometimes, but that’s not me.

What is your workroom like?  What conditions lead you to create the best work?

Gosh, my husband just recently offered to convert the garage into mya workroom but for now,  the dining room is mine unless we have dinner right there and then I have to clean it up ha ha.  I kind of like it though, I can hear everything that is going on in the house, hear the TV even if I don’t see it, and talk to others sitting in the living room.

How long does it take to design and create each piece?

It really depends!  Sometimes I buy fabric just because I like it and it may take me 6 months to do something with it. But many time, I’ll see something or think of something and I’ll run home to work on it.  Some items take 30 minutes to make but others might take me 3-4 hours. It depend how much is involved.

What is your favorite product so far?

That’s hard to say as I love them all and I create them for me to use before they are added to the shop.  I use the quilted travel bags all the time, but I think I like the Sophie’s Handbag the most.  They are so chic and classy.

What is the most interesting request you’ve received from a customer?

To make a pair of seatbelt covers that matched the customer’s yellow and black jaguar.  I loved the idea!

What makes your Etsy store different from others?

I like to collect interesting fabrics that catch my eye. Especially in other countries.  Recently I went to France and I was like a kid in a candy store when I walked into a fabric store in Aix-of-Provence.  Their fabrics are so vibrant and rich in colors.  I bought a lot before my sister was able to pull me away. But oh what fun!!!
