I mentioned the other day that Old Navy was going to start selling cute t-shirts for NCAA and NFL teams. Being a huge football fan, I was immediately intrigued. On my lunch break, I stopped by Old Navy to check them out.
I was pleasantly surprised… so much that I had to take a quick cell phone picture 🙂
Sorry for the poor image quality… but this is what my local Old Navy had on display for my hometown team, the Washington Redskins. Also available were my alma mater, the University of Maryland, the Baltimore Ravens, and Virginia Tech. Online, the options are far more diverse, but if you’re looking for a regional school, you’d better try in store first… U of Maryland is not available online (booooo!!)
I was decently happy with the quality and selection, although there were fewer design options for women when compared to boys and girls – and the men’s XXL would NOT fit my boyfriend or father, especially after the usual Old Navy shrinkage in the dryer. The prices also left a bit to be desired – after taxes (6% in Maryland), I would pay over $20 for a t-shirt. Not good enough for me.
However, when I looked around some more, I was pleasantly surprised by the rest of the store! Here are a few pieces that stood out to me:
I absolutely LOVED the yellow cropped wool-blend peacoat – it looked like it was a thick, quality material and the color was much more vibrant than it looks in the picture. I’ll probably pick this one up when it goes on sale.
I picked up the crochet sweater in the light tan color above. I have been looking for a nice open-stitch sweater like this for years! It was on sale in the store for just under $20, which is a bargain if you ask me.
The “Going Out” blouse was really cute in both black and navy print. I have been looking for a few new printed blouses like this, and these will fit the bill. I can already see myself wearing them with skinny jeans and boots in the fall. I didn’t buy any, but I’m keeping my eyes peeled for a sale 🙂
And finally, the color block tees… I don’t personally love them, but the colors were nice. At only $16 and change, it’s a great way to be on-trend with color blocking without spending an arm and a leg.
Other stuff I liked:
Camp shirts: great fabric, very comfy, nice colors
Animal print ballet flats: super comfy… I would have purchased these if I didn’t already have a pair.
Bold Stripe Sweater: Very “in” – I seriously contemplated this one before putting it back on the shelf. Might change my mind later.
Cable Knit Cardigan: Bought in the camel color… should be a good layering piece in the fall.
What do you think about Old Navy? Will you be shopping there this fall?
