So I just found my coveted Missoni flats (and I am selling my size 6’s on eBay – here’s the link if you want to view/buy!). I’m super excited to find ways to wear them. I’m thinking with tights and a brown palette… but I’ll let you know.
Anyway, Target is messing with my head again by introducing a new collaboration with designer Jason Wu. Slated for a February 2012 release (right around Valentine’s Day – be still my heart!), the collection should be pretty promising.
Does the name ring a bell? Maybe if I associate him with Michelle Obama? And her gorgeous inauguration dress?
Ever since that day, I have been really intrigued by Jason Wu and his career. His style is not as recognizable as Missoni (zig zag overload), but his Target collection should be thoughtfully designed and superior quality. His 1960s style is definitely on trend for spring 2012 as well.
In Women’s Wear Daily, where the collaboration was announced yesterday, Wu says, “The exciting thing about this limited edition collection of affordable women’s wear and accessories is that it allows me to reach a wider audience and bring my designs to people who may not have been able to purchase them before.” Since his typical prices are well above the $1,000 range, this is really huge news.
I, for one, cannot wait.
What are you looking forward to in the Jason Wu for Target collection? Do you think it’ll be as big as the Missoni launch?
