I popped into my local Old Navy on Friday to check out their 50% off outwear campaign.  I was all set to pick up the yellow coat I’ve been eyeing for a few weeks now, but unfortunately the color wasn’t that great on me. I contemplated the green version, but I wasn’t inspired.

I browsed through the rest of the store, searching for something to catch my eye.  I’ve been looking for an affordable pair of black boots for a long time now. Something I could wear over my skinny jeans with a blazer and t-shirt – nothing too fancy.  I didn’t expect to find that in the girls’ section of Old Navy though!

Old Navy Girls Slouchy Boots

I was absolutely shocked when I tried on the size 4 and they fit perfectly. The material (faux suede) wasn’t the best, but for under $30, you could do much worse. One complaint is that the inside zipper on the left boot is very hard to open and close. I think there’s a small defect in the construction there. It’s not a huge issue right now, but it could easily become one in the future.

For reference, I usually wear a size 5.5/6 in women’s shoes and these fit perfectly in a girls size 4.

I would recommend these boots to anyone with a thin calf who’s having a hard time finding the perfect flat boot. They’re snug and comfy, and the price is fantastic. I’ll post some outfit shots to my Facebook page soon 🙂

How would you style these boots? Have you ever tried Old Navy footwear? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
