With all of the violence and destruction in the news, it is refreshing to hear something positive for a change. Stories of kindness and good will are popping up all over. Layaway orders are being paid off anonymously and “angels” are giving out money as families shop for presents.
How wonderful are these people? Just think, if everyone did a little something extra… if all of the people who have something to give simply helped out some of the people who don’t… what a wonderful world this would be.
Not to be cheesy or anything (and I know I am), but it is truly heartwarming to know that there are people out there who care. People who not only care but take action on it. I am so thankful that there are people who have the kindness in their hearts to help those who are less fortunate.
That best portion of a good man’s life; his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.
– William Wordsworth
I hope everyone takes a moment to think, “what can I do this holiday season to help someone in need?”
Maybe it’s donating to a toy drive. Maybe it’s giving the Salvation Army of some of your old clothes. Maybe it’s going to a store and helping families pay for their presents. Maybe it’s just giving a stranger a kind smile or sharing a meal with a friend.
How have you given back or paid it forward this holiday season?
