Jergens Natural Glow Express Body Moisturizer“Jump-start your tan with natural-looking color in just one day.”

That’s the promise made by the folks at Jergens with their Natural Glow Express moisturizing lotion. While I was a little skeptical (I’ve never had much luck with self-tanning moisturizers), I bought the express and firming lotion yesterday. I could hardly wait to try out the express — one day until my pasty legs look a little more tanned? I’m sold.

When I got home, I rushed to the bathroom to try it out. The instructions say to apply an even layer and wait 5 minutes for it to dry. I started on my legs since they haven’t seen the light of day in a few months, and I was pleased by the texture of the lotion. It was thick, and therefore easy to track where I’d applied it. My legs were dry anyway, so they really soaked up the moisture.

I quickly applied the lotion to the rest of my body and waited. And waited. Nothing really happened after two hours, so I applied another coat to my legs. After a few more hours, I went to bed, still skeptical.

When I woke up and trekked to the bathroom to check on their progress, I heard the boyfriend say, “Look at your legs!” Thinking he meant that they looked tan, I got very excited… then he said “You missed a big spot behind your knee.” Aw man! I tried really hard to get even coverage, but I guess I need to try harder next time. But this was encouraging, at least he could tell that some spots had gotten more tan. I was also happy that there was no tan residue left on my hands. (Note: I washed my hands twice with a lot of soap…)

The instructions say that once you use the Express enough to get the color you want, you follow up with the normal Firming lotion to maintain. I don’t think I’m at that point yet, so I’m planning to use the express a few more times to bump up my color.

So in summary, I’ll say that I am really pleased with Jergens Express. I’m getting really nice color (not orange at all) without having to visit the expensive (and harmful!) tanning beds, and saving a lot of money compared to spray tanning. I will stay vigilant in applying even coats and update you all to my progress.

I’m positive I’d wind up with white spots behind my knees, too! 🙂

haha, Sher! Glad to hear I’m not the only one! I have a big splotch on my arm too 🙁 I stink at applying. Need to learn the tricks of the trade!

I remember when the original version of this product came out several years ago, it was sold out in the stores near me for weeks and I have used it ever since. Definitely have to try this new formula out! Oh and to make applying it easier and more even I found that if you do so right out of the shower (not when you are too wet though) it is better absorbed and comes out more evenly.

Love, love Jergens products but was extremely disappointed to find out my very most favorite product was discontinued; Jergens Natural Glow Express Body Moisturizer/Jump Start Tanning in Just One Day (medium to tan skin tones). I am an extremely pale-skinned blonde with blue eyes. I received so many compliments on my skin when wearing this product and numerous clients ask where they could purchase the same “makeup.” I wear extremely expensive makeup products but nothing enhanced my skin with those products like the one you discontinued. Please put it bak on the shelves.
