About a year ago, I introduced you all to iGive, a really cool service that allows you to select a charity to receive a certain percentage of your purchase when you shop online.

You know I am a big proponent of getting the biggest bang for your buck, but during the holiday season, I also like to give back to charities when I can.  iGive makes this super easy and painless.  By using the iGive icon or by going to iGive.com before making a purchase, it allows me to essentially “donate” the extra dollars and cents that I’d usually gain from my cash back sites and instead send them to a charity of my choice.

If you’re shopping online this holiday season, I hope you’ll consider signing up.  If you can’t decide on a charity to select, I can’t recommend the John and Amy Mewhiney Cancer Foundation enough. It was founded in memory of the father and sister of one of my best friends from college and seeks to improve survival rates and early detection of lung cancer (a disease especially close to my heart as well).  I hope you’ll check them out and consider selecting them on iGive!
